WRITING FOR PLEASURE
Calling all people
interested in writing! Whether it be stories, poetry, song
lyrics, memoirs or plays come together with a group of people
with the same interest. Use the group as a sounding board and get
fresh ideas from each other. The Writers Group meets the 2nd and
4th Tuesday of each month at 2:00 in the Conference Room.
Essential Shopping Mondays
Plan your Rutland
shopping trips for Mondays. Our bus will begin pick ups in Fair
Haven and Castleton at 12:30 and head into Rutland for your
essential needs. You will have approximately 1 1/2 hours to shop.
The bus leaves Rutland by 3:00. Call the Center by Friday if you
want to be on the ride list.
- The first and third
Mondays will be shopping at Hannaford or the Diamond Run
Mall.
- The second and fourth
Mondays will be to Price Chopper or Wal-Mart.
Winter Transportation Alert
During the winter
months, if the weather is bad, listen to the radio for school
closings. If the Castleton Schools are closed, the Community
Center van will not be operating.
Knitters Network
Letters of Thanks:
Thank You on behalf of my soldiers. We received a shipment of
your woolies on Dec 22. We are in the mountains in Afghanistan
and the weather is quite chilly. The woolies will be put to good
use.

The Ladies of the Knitters
Network,
Thank you for the helmet liner, your thoughts and your
prayers. I received my first helmet liner in 2009 around this
time of year. I meant to send a thank you but I became busy with
training for the deployment to Afghanistan. I apologize for that,
I should have at least sent an email. That helmet liner went with
me to Afghanistan and I am still very grateful that it kept me
warm but also because it’s something homemade. That means a group
of people back home care about me. I received another on last
week and passed it on to another soldier who is new. Thank you
again for being wonderful people. I wish you all Happy Holidays
and New Year.
