The Portal Itself
Button Systems Inc.
(BSI), a small computer programming company in
Castleton, Vermont is a leading developer and innovator
of health care applications. Working in
coordination with the Vermont Blueprint For Health and
the Vermont Program For Quality In Health Care, BSI
designed and programmed the Vermont Health Record
(VHR). The VHR is a web-based registry for
patients with chronic conditions including diabetes and
cardiovascular disease that is used by doctors and
practices across Vermont. With an ever-increasing
demand for sharing medical information electronically,
the health care technology sector has scrambled to
develop applications to meet these new demands.
Once again, Button Systems is ahead of the health care
applications technology curve, having developed the
product that accomplishes the objective of selectively
sharing patient electronic medical information.
They are pleased to announce their latest development
project – the BSI Patient Portal.
The BSI Patient Portal is an
innovative web-based patient health record (PHR) that
allows a patient to enter and maintain their own health
information from anywhere at any time. Patients
can self-monitor their health statistics and enter the
results into their personal health record.
Whether a patient is grounded in Vermont, they travel
to Florida for the winter months, or they travel all
around the globe, the patient can simply log onto the
web site, enter their information, and have their full
record available to them.
